Oklahoma Storm 2010??

What is wrong with this picture?

January 27, 2010 Gov Brad Henry, Oklahoma declares a State of Emergency for all 77 Oklahoma counties as state officials continued their emergency response preparations.

The storm has not even reached Oklahoma yet, and our Governor is declaring a State of Emergency?

Then on Friday, January 29, 2010, as reported by newsok.com:

As heavy snow fell across much of Oklahoma on Friday, Gov. Brad Henry asked the White House to approve an emergency disaster declaration request for all 77 counties.

If Henry’s request is approved, state and local governments will be reimbursed for storm-related expenses, including paying overtime, operating shelters and clearing roads of ice and snow. It also will cover the use of bottled water and industrial sized generators secured from a federal agency.

I find it rather odd that you declare a State of Emergency before a “disaster” has even happened. And for all 77 counties?

If request is approved, reimbursed for storm related expenses? Winter arrives once a year every year. Did the state and local governments forget to budget for possible winter emergencies?

The National Weather Service was warning Oklahoman’s of the coming storm 3-5 days before it hit Oklahoma. Each and every one of us should have been making preparations for possible power outages, icy road conditions, heavy snow falls, (the largest accumulation of snowfall from the storm in was only 8 inches).

Common sense tells me that if a storm is on its way you make sure you have enough food to feed yourselves should you not be able to leave your home. You have enough water stored, should the water system freeze or fail. You have candles, blankets, alternate heating sources should there be power outages. You check on your neighbors, especially the elderly to make sure they make it through the storm. Neighbors helping neighbors.

Governor Brad Henry sets a poor example of Oklahoman’s taking care of Oklahoman’s. He sets a poor example by asking for Federal aid.

Bottom line folks, each and every one of you need to take responsibility for ones own self!

Preppers Herbs for Survival

Many of the Preppers in Oklahoma are members of one of Native American Tribes located here. This gives us added resources and history to call upon in the case of social collapse, but it comes down to the prepared individual and their readiness more than cultural background.

We, as many around the country are concerned about the Codex laws that plan to make it illegal for us to pick a plant and injest it to aid in the condition of our own health. We natives/ and non-natives alike, DO NOT give permission to any government to attempt to remove our rights to walk upon this planet and live off the bounty of this planet. If the Earth Mother gave her children a plant, then we have the right to feed ourselves with it and to heal ourselves with this plant and that right should be stronger than any countrys laws.

With that said, we see that many of the healing plants on our planet are being regulated to keep citizens of the Earth from being able to grow and injest them. This poses a question: If there were no pharmacies available tomorrow, what herbs would you of wished you had planted today?

As a nurse, herbalist and holistic practicianer for 20 years , of course I have openions on this subject. I want to plant seeds in all here to give thought about what to grow close to you incase it ever becomes neccessary that this is the only source you may have to that medicine. Think Now instead of wishing later. Get a good herbal medicine book and begin collecting what you can.

Instead of beginning by looking at the thousands of herbs one can grow, lets consider this from what are we trying to be able to medicate?

  • Colds and Flu including bird flu
  • Tooth Aches
  • Ailments relating to blood
  • General Pain
  • Stress related discomforts
  • Internal organ repair
  • Female reperductive issues
  • Male issues
  • Anti biotics
  • Hepititus
  • HIV
  • Cancer
  • Maintaining general health
  • Healing broken bones
  • Sprains and bruises

There are many more things needing to be on this list but if you are the leader of your groups medical needs, you would want to have something provided by the earth that you could use to address these catagories.

I am working on compiling such herbs and evaluating which can be maintained in a garden in Oklahoma and which can not. Our weather conditions prohibit some plants from thriving here well enough to meet our medical needs, but some plants need to be established and over three years old before they produce the medicine in its roots. Obviously, when we can no longer go to the pharmacy or herb store and get that herb, we don't want to need to wait three years before we can grow it even if we did have its seeds. We need to plan and practice now.

All preppers need to give this some serious thought. We still have access to some fabulous Chinese medicine plants. Like any area of prepping yourself, you need to practice growing and working with these herbs you pick and become profisient with them before it involves the life or death of loved ones.

I am currently workin on a book on this subject. But don't wait on me. Each who read this needs to begin their own thoughts and training to be better prepared in this area as in all other areas possibly needed in the future.

Lee Iacocca Says:

Remember Lee Iacocca, the man who rescued Chrysler Corporation from its death throes? He's now 82 years old and has a new book, 'Where Have All The Leaders Gone?'.

Lee Iacocca Says:

'Am I the only guy in this country who's fed up with what's happening? Where the hell is our outrage with this so called president? We should be screaming bloody murder! We've got a gang of tax cheating clueless leftists trying to steer our ship of state right over a cliff, we've got corporate gangsters stealing us blind, and we can't even run a ridiculous cash-for-clunkers program without losing $26 billion of the taxpayers' money, much less build a hybrid car. But instead of getting mad, everyone sits around and nods their heads when the politicians say, 'trust me the economy is getting better..'

Better? You've got to be kidding. This is America, not the damned, 'Titanic'. I'll give you a sound bite: 'Throw all the Democrats out along with Obama!'

You might think I'm getting senile, that I've gone off my rocker, and maybe I have. But someone has to speak up. I hardly recognize this country anymore..

The most famous business leaders are not the innovators but the guys in handcuffs.. While we're fiddling in Afghanistan, Iran is completing their nuclear bombs and missiles and nobody seems to know what to do. And the liberal press is waving 'pom-poms' instead of asking hard questions. That's not the promise of the ' America ' my parents and yours traveled across the ocean for.. I've had enough. How about you?

I'll go a step further. You can't call yourself a patriot if you're not outraged. This is a fight I'm ready and willing to have. The Biggest 'C' is Crisis! (Iacocca elaborates on nine C's of leadership, with crisis being the first.)

Leaders are made, not born. Leadership is forged in times of crisis. It's easy to sit there with thumb up your butt and talk theory. Or send someone else's kids off to war when you've never seen a battlefield yourself. It's another thing to lead when your world comes tumbling down.

On September 11, 2001, we needed a strong leader more than any other time in our history. We needed a steady hand to guide us out of the ashes. A hell of a mess, so here's where we stand.

We're immersed in a bloody war now with no plan for winning and no plan for leaving. But our soldiers are dying daily.

We're running the biggest deficit in the history of the world, and it's getting worse every day!

We've lost the manufacturing edge to Asia, while our once-great companies are getting slaughtered by health care costs.

Gas prices are going to skyrocket again, and nobody in power has a lucid plan to open drilling to solve the problem. This country has the largest oil reserves in the WORLD, and we cannot drill for it because the politicians have been bought by the flea-hugging environmentalists.

Our schools are in a complete disaster because of the teachers union.

Our borders are like sieves and they want to give all illegals amnesty and free healthcare.

The middle class is being squeezed to death every day.

These are times that cry out for leadership.

But when you look around, you've got to ask: 'Where have all the leaders gone?' Where are the curious, creative communicators? Where are the people of character, courage, conviction, omnipotence, and common sense? I may be a sucker for alliteration, but I think you get the point.

Name me a leader who has a better idea for homeland security than making us take off our shoes in airports and throw away our shampoo?

We've spent billions of dollars building a huge new bureaucracy, and all we know how to do is react to things that have already happened.

Everyone's hunkering down, fingers crossed, hoping the government will make it better for them. Now, that's just crazy.. Deal with life.

Name me an industry leader who is thinking creatively about how we can restore our competitive edge in manufacturing. Who would have believed that there could ever be a time when 'The Big Three' referred to Japanese car companies? How did this happen, and more important, look what Obama did about it!

Name me a government leader who can articulate a plan for paying down the debit, or solving the energy crisis, or managing the health care problem. The silence is deafening. But these are the crises that are eating away at our country and milking the middle class dry.

I have news for the Chicago gangsters in Congress. We didn't elect you to turn this country into a losing European Socialist state. What is everybody so afraid of? That some bonehead on NBC or CNN news will call them a name? Give me a break. Why don't you guys show some spine for a change?

Had Enough? Hey, I'm not trying to be the voice of gloom and doom here. I'm trying to light a fire. I'm speaking out because I have hope - I believe in America . In my lifetime, I've had the privilege of living through some of America 's greatest moments. I've also experienced some of our worst crises: The 'Great Depression,' 'World War II,' the 'Korean War,' the 'Kennedy Assassination,' the 'Vietnam War,' the 1970's oil crisis, and the struggles of recent years since 9/11.

Oklahoma City - Smokey Red Sky

APN thanks Barbara (okie B) for this info

Driving home from work today, I noticed that the sky in Oklahoma City was smokey red. Thats not completely unheard of since we have red dirt and sometimes have dust storms, but this was thick and swirly, not typical for a dust storm. So I got home and tried going online and checking the local news to find out what was going on, but nothing. Went to go brush my teeth, and there was no water to my house.

News reports are starting to come in on the local news stations that two things occurred in the last couple of hours. First, there was a fire in a grain elevator at SW 29th and Robinson, fairly close to downtown. Obviously, this is very bad because grain elevators have a lot of highly combustible grain dust and could explode. As firefighters were working to contain the blaze, they lost water pressure. Crews discovered a water main break at SW 149th in one of two 72-inch water mains that provide water to most of south Oklahoma City and many neighboring communities. Crews expect that it will take another 3-4 hours for them to divert water to a different 48-inch water main and have asked the community to refrain from using water while they get this done, and pressure will likely be low for a while.

America Rising

America Rising: An Open Letter To Democrat Politicians
Ok, I said that I wasn't going to get too political on this site anymore. But this MUST get out. Even liberal voters are now waking up to the truth. Government, Left or Right, is NOT the solution! ONLY self-reliance, dedication, and determination will solve your problems and free you.

Repost this link and video everywhere you can, find copies and update, they are pulling it from sites all over Youtube. They are afraid! So much so that they are infringing upon our first amendment rights. Find other video hosting services that have the same video. Get the word out. You can link to this page if you want, I will make sure I stay on top of this video and replace it with anyone that gets pulled.
